Toshiba Satellite Z930 reset — HOWTO

My toshiba satellite Z930 will not come out of hibernation.

Resolved Question:

My toshiba satellite Z930 will not come out of hibernation. I press and hold the power button to turn the laptop off but it does not power off completely but goes to sleep with the power light flashing orange. Pressing the power button again gives a black screen with the white cursor and nothing more

jctservice :Hi there! I’m Joey, and I’m happy to assist you today!

jctservice :To confirm, does that laptop have a removable battery?

Customer: Hi Joey, thanks for taking my answer
jctservice :you are welcome, I’ll do my best to get you going again!

Customer: The battery is sealed within the machine
Customer: The battery is sealed within the machine
and is not externally accessible
jctservice :ok, that’s what i thought. Usually the fix for this involves removing the battery — but let me find the proper procedure for a reset on that model, just a moment

Customer: thanks !
jctservice :Ok, on that particular laptop, lets try this:

Press and hold both the POWER button, and the PRESENTATION button (2nd button to the right of power) for 10-15 seconds until you see the DC-IN light flash off for a moment, then release both buttons

How to Disable SMB 2.0 on Windows Vista/2008.

Surprisingly, it appears necessary to disable SMB 2.0 on Server 2008 in order to resolve the Worldox GX2 stability issues. Given the vast improvements in performance and scalability offered with SMB 2.0 in Windows Server 2008, I have to believe World Software consider this workaround unacceptable as a long term solution and trust they’re working hard on a fix.

Windows 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Services (RDS) (2 of 2) | Community.

This thread addresses many of the issues that we’ve been having with the publication of RDWeb. We are trying to configure TMG for multiple tenants, but it is not clear that this is possible. Sure, we can publish multiple RDWeb pages from multiple RDWeb servers via TMG web publishing rules (that key on header information), but it is not clear that the subsequent RDP traffic can be directed on the basis of host header. i.e. there is only one way to offer multiple RDP connections at one external IP address, and that is to use simple RDP port mapping, however this breaks VDI which requires the careful coordination of RDWeb, the Connection Broker, and the Gateway box.
